2022 AGM to be held in January

Now that our events for the year are done (and in the calm before the Coffs Coast Rally), we have an announcement to make. As we did not reach a quorum for our AGM, a general meeting was held last Tuesday. As everyone will no doubt be flat out over the next couple of months, we have decided to cancel the December meeting and will hold the 2022 AGM in January.

We have moved the date to Tuesday 31st January, as we feel it will be a more accessible date for most people. It will be at the Coffs Hotel as per usual, at 7:30pm, and like last year we’re looking at putting on som finger food for everyone.

Put it on your calendars – we have lots of exciting things in the works, including the possibility of tarmac events and some inter-club series events. 2023 is looking to be a promising year for the CHDSCC and grassroots motorsport in NNSW – this is your chance to be involved in building something special!

Khanacross Round 5 Results

Our final event of the year has been run & won! We had a good turnout with 16 entries, some fantastic weather and tricky courses to keep us honest!

Congratulations goes to the Orams, who took out the outright podium – Will in 1st, Tom in 2nd and Matt in 3rd. We had some tight competition between the 2WDs and other classes, with Tony Creer taking out Class B & 4th outright by only a few seconds, and John Kelly taking out Class C and 5th outright.

As always we had some stellar driving from our Juniors, with Tom taking out the Junior win alongside his 2nd outright placing. Ryan Guy took out 1st in Class D & 2nd in Juniors, with Oscar Waters taking 1st in Class A and 3rd in Juniors, driving the club’s Suzuki Alto.

A massive thank you to everyone who showed up and helped out on the day – it was hugely appreciated. Many hands make light work, and it keeps things more sustainable for our officials.

A little note – we’ve been having some technical difficulties with the results images coming out blurry in our website posts and newsletter emails. If it’s not readable for you, head to the Results page on our website or our Facebook page where these are also published.

Watch this space for some announcements for next year!

Khanacross Round 5 this weekend!

Hi all, with the RedPoint Hillclimb series being run & won, we’d like to remind you our Khanacross Round 5 is on this Saturday afternoon, 19th November. Scrutineering & documentation starts at 11:30am, with driver’s briefing at 12:45pm and racing starting at 1pm.

Camping is available at Raleigh Motorsports Complex – contact Chris there directly.

As our officials have been working tirelessly through the year to bring you all these events, we are asking that people turn up a little earlier to help Scott (our clerk of course) with setup – around 11am. If you are willing to run the BBQ too, please let us know – Mick has done a fantastic job all year and deserves a break 🙂

As always, the club car will be available for juniors too. Be sure to get your entries in soon – documents can be downloaded here: https://www.coffscarclub.com.au/event/coffs-coast-khanacross-round-5-2022/

This is our last event for the year – don’t miss it!

AGM tonight!

Our AGM is on tonight, Tuesday 15th November.

Head along to help with the future of the club into 2023 – we need your help!

Usual time and place – 7:30pm at the Coffs Hotel. See you there!

RedPoint Hillclimb Results

For those who haven’t received them yet, results are out for our RedPoint Hillclimb Round 2

Firstly, again, thank you to our volunteer officials, RedPoint, and all the competitors who made the effort to be there this week.

Secondly – congratulations to our winners! We had a wide range of vehicle types and some fantastic (and for some, spectacular!) driving, keeping things interesting for spectators and competitors alike.

Don’t forget we have our AGM this coming Tuesday and then our Khanacross Round 5 the Saturday after that – hopefully we’ll see you all there!

Hillclimb Tomorrow!

We’re finally going racing tomorrow! We’ve been down and the track is looking great (and the burnouts have rubbered up the start nicely – should be plenty of grip!)

A little housekeeping:

We have the club caravan set up near the start line for documentation – please head over to sign in & collect your transponder for the morning. Make sure you don’t forget your zip ties to affix it to the vehicle – especially those who are double entered in one car.

While you’re there, check out the RedPoint tent – I’m told they’re wanting to look after us competitors, so it’s worth heading over for a chat!

Timing will be provided by MyLaps Speedhive (you can download the app or visit speedhive.mylaps.com). However, as mobile reception at the track is poor, we are planning on displaying times at the club caravan in the pits.

Finally – food is beiung supplied by the Lions Club just above the pits. They do have EFTPOS, however, as reception is poor, we are recommending people bring cash.

This is shaping up to be one absolutely awesome day – see you all out at the track tomorrow!

AGM REMINDER

Now that entries are closed for our RedPoint Hillclimb Round 2, we’d like to remind you that our AGM is this month and coming up soon. It’s on at our usual meeting time and place, 7:30pm at the Coffs Hotel, on Tuesday 15th November.

We have plenty on the agenda for next year, and we need people to step up and help out, as our volunteers have been working tirelessly to ensure the events we have been running go ahead.

We’d love to see you there – and then again at Khanacross Round 5 on the 19th Nov!
