Coffs Mechanical Repairs Khanacross Round 2 Results

Results for our Coffs Mechanical Repairs Khanacross Round 2 are now up!

Turns out we had a fantastic day – the weather really came out perfect and there was some incredibly close competition. At one point 3rd through 6th were within 1 second of each other on overall time!

Once again, a huge thank you to Coffs Mechanical Repairs, those who showed up to have a run, and importantly, those who showed up to help on the day. It really does make these events more enjoyable for all of us.

Our next meeting is on Tuesday 16th May, and our next event is the Coffs Mechanical Repairs Khanacross Round 3 on Sunday 28th May.

Khanacross Is On Tomorrow!

We’re on for tomorrow’s Coffs Mechanical Repairs Khanacross!

The Clerk of Course has been down to check out the grounds this afternoon and it’s looking like it may even be drier than last time – so we’re going ahead. The forecast looks like there’s only a 20-30% chance of rain later in the afternoon, could be perfect conditions for us.

There’s still time to send in your entries – see you out at Raleigh tomorrow!

Meeting Next Week

Meeting reminder – our monthly meeting is on next Tuesday, 18th April. Usual time and place, Coffs Hotel at 7:30pm.

Also a quick reminder about our Coffs Mechanical Repairs Khanacross Round 2 – to be held on Sunday 30th April. Details will be much the same as Round 1 – we’ll have entry forms and supp regs out very soon.

Coffs Mechanical Repairs Khanacross Round 1 Results

Our Coffs Mechanical Repairs Khanacross Round 1 has been run and won!

We had a great turnout today, 17 entrants and managed to get 7 runs in. There was some really tight competition, with multiple drivers swapping places on the podium as the day progressed. Special mention to our juniors, we had some stellar driving from them, especially as some were first timers.

Congrats to all our class winners and those on the outright podium!

Finally, thank you again to everyone who helped out through the day. We really appreciate it – it’s something that keeps these events viable for us.

Next event is on the 30th April – 4 weeks away. We hope we’ll see you there!

*Note – if the results image below is hard to read (due to limitations of our emailing system), results are available on our website.

Rescheduled Khanacross Round 1 – April 2nd

Just a quick reminder that our rescheduled Coffs Mechanical Repairs Khanacross Round 1 is only a bit over a week away on April 2nd! The same entry forms on our website can be used, we are currently sorting updated regs. The only change will be the date.

If you’ve already entered, that is still valid and you only need to show up.

Here’s hoping for better weather and a fantastic day!

Meeting Tomorrow – and a letter to all members

Hi folks – just a reminder that our monthly meeting is on tomorrow, 21st March. Same time & place as usual – The Coffs Hotel at 7:30pm. See you there!

We have also received a letter from club member Bob Carle, who has asked that it be sent to all members. We’ve included this letter below:

Dear Members,

I wrote a letter some time ago and sent it in but somehow got lost “ in the clouds”.

The purpose of the letter was to send some thanks, apologies and congratulations for before and after Christmas happenings, so I have rewritten it.

My Congratulations were to the new Board of the Club. Please support them.

Our Club is not unlike many Clubs, coming out of Covid etc. members are just getting back to their motor sport, please remember the Club doesn’t happen without your contribution. There are so many Coffs Harbour people members of the Grafton and Kempsey Clubs. We have to be more active earlier in the year to try and attract these members back to our Club. It’s a joint effort.

My other congratulations were to the teams who ran in the Coffs Coast Rally, what a great effort. I had a heap of photos and a good script for the paper but getting the photo’s delayed it to the extent it became old news and couldn’t be run.

I would like to apologise for my attempt to give the Club and Ross Duroux some appreciation and mention at his funeral,  I am sorry the words just didn’t come to me.

While speaking of Rosco, I would like to propose he and Dave Arthur be made Life Members, I think we can do that even though they are not with us anymore, or at least a permanent recognition for their work with our Club. In the earlier days of the Club, Ross, Dave, Dave’s brother Geoff [passed] and Rick Abell [who is already a life member] [also passed] spent many hours and time in running Rallies and other events for our Club.

On behalf of my Rotary Club, Coffs City Rotary, I would like to thank all who participated, competed and assisted in the running of the Clubs events during the inaugural Coffs Coast Festival of Motor Sport. Especially Wayne for taking the event on. We are starting to ramp the Festival up again right now trying to finalise Sponsors and Calendar.

After running our first Festival event we can see some ideas/ ways to make it bigger and  better for all, no more mid week events for one. I would like to ask the Club to participate again and have anyone who is interested in getting involved with the running of the Festival to call me. Many hands make light work.

It wouldn’t be a Motor Sport Festival in Coffs Harbour without a Rally. Now that Motorsport Australia have taken the ARC to Canberra, we will make every effort to run our own Rally. Nathan Quinn has a Rally “in his head” but hasn’t the time to run it. My thoughts are to have someone take it on and speak to other surrounding Clubs to help make it happen. The old Group 6 days we had Armidale, Taree, Wauchope/Port Macquarie Kempsey Clubs all helping. There a lot of members who would run and people who will help but we need a leader or a group who will work on making the Event happen. Nathan has most of the hard work done with the roads etc., it is behind the scenes work that needs to be done. Please consider.

For the Hill Climb/ Tarmac people. I have a 1.8km street circuit at Macksville industrial Estate which a lot of work has been done to get up and running as well. Council are happy to talk and are looking for an event to run in their Shire with the Festival. This is a great little Circuit and could be a huge new event for the Coast. We may have someone interested in running this event but if someone local would be interested please get in contact with me.

Sorry for the ramble but I just wanted to get the word to all members, not just those at the meeting. Regards Bob Carle

Meeting next Tuesday!

Hi folks – just a quick reminder that our monthly meeting is next week, on Tuesday 21st March. Usual time & place, Coffs Hotel at 7:30pm.

Also a quick apology about not getting an email out regarding our wet weather cancellation of the khanacross – the website was down for server maintenance all Sunday and we were unable to access our mailing list. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for the latest & fastest updates.
