Digital Camera Warehouse Bush Khanacross

Well done everyone for making last Sundays new event, the bush style Khanacross a success.

Conditions started off as very challenging, however as the day progressed, a little more grip presented itself and the foliage on the sides of the track breathed a sigh of relief. By the time we were onto the opposite direction runs, times were getting significantly lower overall. Very different techniques presented themselves, with the majority approaching the slippery conditions with caution, though some of the more experienced punters flung their car at the challenge which provided a visual (and sometimes audible) treat for the spectators!

Thanks to everyone who helped on the day, and literally it seemed everyone jumped in and assisted in some way or another. Congratulations to all our award winners.

Round 3 Coffs Coast Khanacross Series – Results

What could possibly make for a better day than perfect racing conditions and beautiful weather?

How about great people!

With the weather and conditions spot on, it was wonderful to see so many turn out from their warm cozy homes and enjoy a day of racing at Raleigh Motorsport Complex, being Round 3 of the Coffs Coast Khanacross Series.

Kempsey members often support our events. It rarely goes unrewarded and this round was no exception. The top two awards for the day leaving the area with Paul and Damien. Paul performing a clean sweep with quickest time on every course. Some spectacular driving from the locals kept them honest with 3rd and 4th going to Coffs members Gianni and Peter in the highest placed two wheel drives. (though they can’t seem to agree which end of the car drives better) 😛

The juniors competition is heating up with Kai grabbing the top spot in the club car! Liam and Amelia with less than a second between each other close behind. I’m sure they will discuss who’s actually fastest when they get home 🙂 I will take this moment to caution everyone that we still have another Upcroft waiting in the wings. When four people from one family in the winners circle just isn’t enough!

Its great to see the Ladies competition gaining some momentum too, but don’t be fooled by the name, pretty sure Kelly is some sort of Upcroft in disguise. Amelia gets her second mention (refer to juniors) with Tanya finding third place in her first drive in the Alto and only her second event ever! There still seems to be a few ladies hovering around without a steering wheel in their hand too. Maybe we can encourage them to take the next step.

Nothing mechanical lasts forever and it was unfortunate to see a couple of crowd favourites pull out of competition with issues. It is heartening however to see everyone jump in to assist when all doesn’t go to plan. We hope those cars get repaired soon and I don’t think its out of place to say if anyone needs assistance, just ask, I’m sure someone in the club will be right there with whatever’s required.

With such a great day their is always so many people to thank, it seems everyone found a way to help out! From setting up, packing down, timing, marshalling, starting, resetting flags, setting the course, cooking the BBQ, processing entries, sharing driving tips and sharing cars.

Great work everyone! Its a credit to you all!
