Coffs Harbour & District Sporting Car Club

The Quality Accounting Coffs Coast Rally and the car club was well represented at the recent awards dinner for the Queensland State Rally Championships. Our very own Sam Hil accepting an award for the QACCR event team. A well deserved recognition for Sam, support team, supporting club members and sponsors. The venue, famous coffs forestry roads and night stages being particular popular amongst the competitors.

But that wasnt the only mention for those south of the border. See if you recognise some more local coffs rally celebs!

What an excellent way to kick off the year, especially 2026 being our 60th anniversary. Congratulations again to all the award winners and well done CHDSCC for bringing rallying back to Coffs.

This is where we will decide on positions for the steering of the club through 2026 and beyond.

Some light food and drinks will be provided

Fresh faces and fresh ideas welcome.

The club turns 60 this year (2026)!

We have lots of plans and projects underway to improve and secure the clubs future.

We need committee members (people who assist with decision making and if possible carry out tasks to assist with the running of events/club).

Time commitment is up to you. No skill necessary. Non driving family/friends welcome.

This is your club so come along and have your say, vote or get involved. (Looks great on a resume for those at the start of their career.)

Dont forget memberships were due in December

What a year we have had!

Though 2025 had some challenges we still managed to stay financial, execute another Quality Accounting Coffs Coast Rally (even bigger and better than last year), introduce a new event, welcome some new members and hopefully entertain a few existing ones too!

Congratulations to all our award, trophy and plaque winners.

With lots of new projects on the horizon for 2026, the start may exhibit some wheel spin, but lets hope that this is our year to get some traction and drive forward.

The club really appreciates every person and business who contributed this year.

A massive thanks to all the competitors, volunteers and supporters who have gone before us and kept this club going into its 60th year for 2026! Lets do them justice and continue to build the club for the next generation.

Finally, I hope you all had a great Christmas and are with family or friends for this new year’s eve.

Just a friendly reminder that we haven’t conducted noise testing at our events for a while and……

……Noise is always a consideration at any Motorsport Venue and becoming more and more of a volatile topic.

Noise testing is very likely at the Coffs Coast Tarmac Autocross 2025 event HINT! HINT!

If your over the limit, sadly, you won’t be allowed to compete until its rectified. That includes pops, bangs, squeals and/or rattles!

If your not sure, there are some phone apps which will give you a rough idea (like Decibel X, Android & iOS)

The Coffs Sporting Car Club and Raleigh international raceway have sound meters and are happy to test your vehicle for you before the event.

Static: Test at 45 deg 500mm away from tip at 3500rpm (guide only)

Regulations: 30m from track edge must not exceed 95db.

…its been a bit of an uphill battle to get this event underway. I would ask you to spare a thought for those who Raleigh Raceway is their livelihood.

Lets hope we can roll with the punches and keep enjoying the privilege of motorsport for a long time to come. If anyone has any doubts or concerns please contact me. Otherwise, I hope all of you that have been awaiting your chance at the bitumen will take it!

Coffs Coast Tarmac Autocross 2025

Just a reminder that our November Meeting is this coming Wednesday 19th November.

A new event is coming…

Next month, a new event is planned for 14th December. It will be an Autocross on bitumen very similar to the Super Sprint we held last year around the same time, however with some changes:

Different to last years Sprint:

• Car will leave the start line one at a time.
• There may be the addition of some obstacles on the track to change the line
• Entries will be by email invitation

Favourties from last years event:

• Practice and qualifying
• 4 laps each heat
• At least 5 heats
• Trophies

There should be plenty of track time!
